Jean Hess has a BA in Fine Arts from The College of William & Mary.  After experimenting with various media including oils and watercolors, she now prefers painting with acrylics on canvas or sometimes on board.  She began to paint on a regular basis when her 3 children were in college.

Enjoying the challenge of creating a successful painting, Jean strives for realism through the use of form, light, and color.  She loves the beauty and color found not only in Nature but also in even commonplace objects.

Her work is owned by collectors in several states and in her native England.
